Why's this happening?

While there are many different reasons, common challenges that we see men facing are:

Narrow Definitions of Masculinity

Traditional ideas of masculinity can be limiting and restrictive, causing us to feel pressure to conform to rigid gender roles and expectations. This can lead to feelings of shame or inadequacy for those who do not fit these narrow definitions.

Suppresion of Emotional Expression

Many of us are taught to suppress our emotions and to avoid vulnerability, leading to difficulties in expressing ourselves and seeking emotional support.

Toxic Masculinity

Some aspects of traditional masculinity can be harmful, such as aggression, dominance, and misogyny. These behaviors can contribute to a culture of violence and toxic masculinity that perpetuates harmful gender norms.

Mental Health Stigma

Stigma around mental health can make it difficult for us to seek help when we need it. This can lead to untreated mental health issues and further exacerbate the challenges of traditional masculinity.

Relationship Challenges

Narrow definitions of masculinity can make it difficult for us to form and maintain healthy relationships. It can be challenging to express emotions, communicate effectively, and build meaningful connections.
